Park Lane Press wins environment award

Park Lane Press has won a national environmental-standards award for its clean bill of eco health.

The BSI British Standards ISO14001 2008 award recognised its environmental-management standard in the production of brochures, leaflets and cards.

The company, in Corsham, Wiltshire, runs waterless litho presses, has reduced use of solvent-based inks and holds the FSC chain of custody.

Park Lane Press entered the small- and medium-sized-enterprise category to win praise from the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.

Its environmental-policy statement reads: “We recognise our operations result in emissions to air and water and the generation of waste and consumption of natural resources. We therefore realise the importance of environmental protection.”

Managing director Phil Sudwell said: “We introduced our environmental-management standard in 2002 and have continually improved performance.

“Customers know all of the marketing and print we produce is of the highest quality and we pass on environmental printing standards that are second to none.”

Sudwell added: “It is the first year we have entered any environmental awards and hope the BSI accolade is the first of many.”
