The machine, which is set to be installed at the Cannock, Staffordshire-based company’s 836sqm premises next month, is an addition to its existing setup and joins Mark Andy and Gallus presses and AB Graphic International Omega and Vectra turret rewinders.
The device, which was manufactured and supplied by Dantex Digital, part of the Dantex Group, works with UV-based inks and is available with CMYK plus white.
The 210mm-wide press runs at speeds of up to 35m/min and can be used for paper as well as film media when used in conjunction with optional Corona treatment.
Paramount Labels managing director Phil Wright said the investment is a strategic move into new markets and opportunities: “We’d been looking at various presses for the past year and decided that UV inkjet is the future. We’d known Dantex for a long time and we also like the idea of buying British, and Dantex is made in the UK.”
The business also looked at alternatives from HP, Xeikon and Screen but found the Dantex device to be the best fit for its requirements.
“This is an affordable press. We tried to get a grant but because of Brexit things changed so we decided to lower the expenditure and go for a Dantex; it will probably do 90% of the work that we currently send out,” said Wright.
“The team at Dantex guided us through the purchase process and have been exceptional in explaining the full capability of the press step by step, which in turn has enabled us to plan ahead.”
Paramount Labels, which has 19 staff and is expecting to turnover around £1.4m this year, produces a wide range of labels, stickers and graphics for both trade customers and end users.
