Paragon Group has expanded its digital services offering with the acquisition of digital product development agency Reason.

London-based Reason will become part of Paragon DCX, which is in turn part of the Paragon Customer Communications business.

Reason offers a mix of services including strategy, digital product design, and technology.

DCX has a team of around 250 people and clients include Arriva, Comic Relief, Coventry Building Society, Greene King, Goldman Sachs, Aviva, Health Education England, and Great Western Railway.

Reason managing director Peter Gandy said the deal was “a great fit” for both companies.

“The acquisition means we’ll be able to scale faster and take the company to another level. We’ll be able to share knowledge and expertise while remaining true to our shared core growth pillars: digital transformation, data and AI, agile delivery and service design,” he said.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Jeremy Walters, CEO of Paragon CC in the UK, Ireland and Luxembourg, commented, “The combined strengths of Reason and Paragon will result in an enhanced service offering for our clients. Generations of experience, the latest innovations in tech and smart data will ensure our partners, people, clients, and clients’ customers, thrive and evolve.”

Paragon DCX CEO James Goldhill said the Reason business was a well-respected name in retail and financial services where Paragon is actively expanding its reach.

“Working together with Reason, and bringing on board a host of capabilities (technological and human!), we’ll together be able to offer more and better services to clients in more than 20 countries across the world. All this, while at the same time retaining the personable approach and boutique feel that has made both parties’ offerings unique,” he said.

The overall Paragon Group has sales of €1.2bn (£1bn) and employs more than 9,000 people.
