Paul Venediger and Chris Palmer, formerly of e-commerce marketplace PaperX, have set up Publishing Paper Solutions (PPS) a new company providing paper management services.
The duo, who have many years experience in the paper industry within the divisions of Stora Enso, have secured their first contract with VNU Business Publications UK.
Venediger said the company was also in productive discussions with several other publishers with a view to providing similar services.
The aim of the firm, said Venediger, was to remove some of the headaches associated with the management and administration of paper: Paper administration for an end-user is not so much core as chore.
He stressed that PPS would not be involved in providing a merchant service, but would offer an outsourced management facility to publishers and paper end-users.
The service will cover every aspect of order administration, stock control, account reconciliation and waste management. It will also offer procurement consultancy, and training in paper use and specification.
VNU Business Publications UK part of the European group publishes 20 business and consumer magazines and is one of the UKs leading IT publishers.
