The agreement, covering the UK, Holland and Belgium, will see Crawley-based Papergraphics supply the equipment, used in large-format print laminating.
The applicator, or worktable, offers a semi-automated laminating process claimed to reduce production time by up to 85%.
Pricing for the worktable ranges from around £6,000 to £8,000 depending on table size and specification.
“It's a solid, simple and effective piece of machinery that is well engineered to make life very simple and save time,” said Papergraphics managing director Nathan Atkins.
The table had a wide target audience, he said, from standard POS graphics production houses to bureaus and any business that prints and mounts on to board.
“Manual laminating work requires lots of physical effort and the new kit aims to reduce operator injuries while cutting down waste by limiting human error during handling or application,” said Atkins.
The worktable laminates soft or hard substrates up to 70mm thick and can merge glossy thin foil materials as well as heavier sheets with ease.
Its design benefits from no cross-going overhead beam to improve operator access. In addition, the protected traversing system ensures smooth movement of the roll assembly.
The table cover is made of hardened glass with high-quality LED-illumination, useful for multi-layer applications, and it saves money and energy consumption.
“Being modular, the table is easy to transport and install. The units are delivered in compact packages that are 80% smaller compared with other solutions,” said Atkins.
“This means print professionals can have the mounting table installed in a confined space or areas where access may be restricted.
“Competitor kit is sold fully assembled so if you want it on a mezzanine of upstairs room, you've got problems. Because our model is partially assembled you can get it through tight openings.”
The distribution partnership will also provide Papergraphics with the exclusive delivery of CWT’s linear cutter capable of trimming media of over 5m in a single cut.
It is suitable for a wide range of materials, including vinyl and fabrics, floor carpets, PVC and rubber.
In May Papergraphics replaced Paperlinx UK as a reseller of Canon UK’s aqueous wide-format printers to the UK market.
The move followed adoption of Paperlinx’s Jetrix hardware and software sales a month earlier following the bulk of Paperlinx UK’s operations being put into administration.
The firm has also recently partnered with HP to sell its Latex 300 series printers in the UK and hired Michelle Dellow as its new product manager.
