PaperCo adds Gandinnovations kit to grand format range

PaperCo has bolstered its digital inkjet distribution arm after securing the rights to sell Gandinnovations' complete range of grand format printers.

The deal covers the manufacturer's portfolio of machines that includes UV roll-to-roll models as well as the company's Jeti 2030 X-2 UV flatbed printer, which features 48 Spectra print heads.

The Gandinnovations machines are available with a range of RIPs including Onyx PosterShop, Wasatch SoftRIP and Caldera.

They complement PaperCo's existing distribution agreements with Roland DG and Canon, which have been in place since March 2007 and 2008 respectively.

Phil Tomlinson, digital and technical solutions manager at PaperCo, called the deal "an excellent opportunity for PaperCo to develop its burgeoning digital inkjet business".

The high-volume, grand format sector of PaperCo's business is headed up by its UV inkjet specialist, Steve Peet.

He said: "Grand format is attractive to commercial printers as it allows them to build on existing skills to develop extremely lucrative revenue streams."
