Paper industry veteran Julian Long dies

Julian Long, spokesperson and national key accounts manager for Arjowiggins Graphic, has died aged 65.

Long passed away on 5 November.

He was Performance Papers customer service team manager from 1988 until it merged with Wiggins Teape in 1990 to form Arjowiggins. At this point, he became a senior UK sales manager for Arjowiggins.

After the launch of Arjowiggins Graphic in 2009, Long became national key accounts manager and a national spokesperson for the company, where he also managed its speciality products. 

A statement from Arjowiggins Graphic described Long as an “industry veteran”.

The statement read: “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Julian Long, industry veteran and national key accounts manager of Arjowiggins Graphic.

“We would like to acknowledge Julian’s significant contribution to the industry and to Arjowiggins Graphic. He has contributed significantly to the UK industry, latterly acting as UK spokesperson for Arjowiggins Graphic, where he contributed on a wide range of industry topics.”

A service of celebration of Long’s life will take place at Southampton Crematorium (East Chapel) on Monday 21 November at 1.15pm.
