The printing arm of the Oxford University Press (OUP), Oxuniprint currently occupies part of the pub­lisher’s buildings in the centre of Oxford.

It will move to a spacious 850m² facility in Kidlington, eight miles to the north of the city, in July.

Oxuniprint director of printing services George Thomas said: “While we currently work in a lovely building with huge historical significance, we have outgrown our area and need to move on.”

Oxuniprint currently runs a raft of Heidelberg kit, including a five colour B2 press, an aging B2 MOSH machine, a two-colour B3 machine, as well as a range of pre-press, finishing and colour copying and scanning equipment.

Thomas said that the printer, which employs 27 staff, has switched to Mitsubishi as its future press supplier after a long and detailed review of market alternatives.

“Mitsubishi demonstrates an obvious and tangible commitment to delivering great customer service.” he said.

“And the technical ability of their presses is, in our view, the best in the market place – particularly in terms of short make ready times and cost effective maintenance schedules.”
