Overmatter: wild wayzgoose

Being dropped in the middle of the Lake District to compete in a bout of archery, axe-throwing and catapult-building might sound like a medieval re-enactment society’s special Olympics, but it was actually the ultimate print wayzgoose for Harrogate-based Platinum Print.

The family-owned printer carted a group of 43 staff and partners over the Pennines to Derwent Water to take part in the two-day event to celebrate its 25th birthday. Other activities included fly casting and sheep herding.

The Platinum posse then danced the night away at an 80s disco, presumably to such hits as Diana Ross’s Chain Re-axe-tion, Kylie and Jason’s Especially for Ewe and that epic Bros number I (arr)owe you nothing.

The next day’s activities included a boat trip and a hike up the 451m Cat Bells Fell before a pub lunch and a ‘quiet coach trip’ home for the survivors.
