The year also marks a notable anniversary for one print business, because it was the year Kall Kwik Chiswick was set up by business partners Marcelle and Terry Woods, who fondly recalls the fiddly nature of analogue production techniques such as Letraset.

Nowadays the firm, which was the first Kall Kwik centre in the UK to hit the landmark of £1m turnover, is very much in the digital age with premises three times the original size and an array of cutting-edge print kit. “Doing things like making large-format posters and banners while clients wait is an everyday occurrence now – in the 80s we would have had to send this work out to a specialist and it could take several weeks!” says Terry.

Along with a special 30th anniversary logo, celebratory fizz and promotions for two members of the long-serving team, the firm has also dug out some old pics for a then and now comparison. Superb! 

Those 80s jumpers are still very on-trend as far as Overmatter is concerned.
