The Print Yatra convinced printers in various cities to form associations for the purpose of effective networking. OPA's efforts has ensured that during the last month, 26 new printers' association were established in North India.
"The Indian print market is expected to reach $25.1 billion in 2012 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.2%," informed Parveen Aggarwal, president of OPA. "Our aim of commencing the funding is to encourage the associations to compile a database of the printing and packaging units in their areas. This database would help us connect better," he added.
Kamal Chopra, who is the OPA'S general secretary said: "More than 80% of Indian printing and packaging units are family owned and closely held; and they are managed professionally".
The OPA project is open for all the registered printers' associations of North India to apply for the financial assistance for the purpose. At the initial stage, OPA will provide a grand-in-aid to the tune of Rs 11,000/- to all such associations.
