OneVision to launch JDF tool

OneVision will launch JDFnet at Drupa, a tool for linking its products to third-party workflows and MIS using JDF.

Head of product marketing Frank Ladwein said the firm had launched JDFnet due to its involvement in PrintCity and Networked Graphic Production (NGP).

Two third-party vendors have already signed up to JDFnet, and these will be announced at Drupa, with more to be added in the near future.

Ladwein said initially OneVision had looked integrate each of its applications separately, but had decided to opt for one software package instead.

Through JDFnet, One-Vision products and third-party applications can be networked together into a JDF-compliant workflow.

This allows for parallel processing of jobs and files, and worldwide JDF distribution.

The client/server software tracks, records and reports every operation carried out by OneVision's software packages, allowing all stages of the production process to be monitored.

JDFnet is an integral part of the latest versions of OneVision's Asura Pro and Speedflow Cockpit applications.
