ODC accused of 'lack of support'

On Demand Communications (ODC) could face legal action over an alleged lack of support for its Kall Kwik and Prontaprint franchises.

Franchise law firm Field Fisher Waterhouse (FFW) held a meeting last week with franchisees from both
networks.

In a letter sent to members of the franchise networks, the firm claimed to have been contacted by "a number of franchisees" from both Kall Kwik and Prontaprint.

It alleged that these franchisees were "very concerned about the increasingly poor support being provided to the franchise network by your franchisor [ODC]".

The letter continued: "We have worked with a number of franchisees that have complained about levels of franchisor support, but this is un-doubtedly the most extreme example we have seen."

FFW said it anticipated it would be instructed by "a good number of franchisees" to represent them in negotiations with the franchisor.

A spokeswoman for the law firm confirmed that a meeting for all franchisees of Kall Kwik and Prontaprint had been held on 11 March.

ODC declined to comment.
