Océ launches upgraded ColorWave 300

Océ has launched an upgraded version of its ColorWave 300 single footprint wide-format printer, which it claimed will improve both efficiency and use of floorspace.

Océ's original ColorWave 300, which was launched in January 2010, was aimed at commercial printers, as well as users in the engineering and construction industries.

The Dutch manufacturer has added scanning to the ColorWave 300 2nd Edition, alongside the 600dpi colour and black-and-white printing capability of the first model, and is pitching the model as an "all-in-one" system.

The wide-format machine incorporates thermal inkjet technology and is designed for adding colour to technical documents, and the printing of display and promotional materials.

The latest iteration features a top delivery tray to stack large-format documents automatically on top of the system, thereby reducing the machine's footprint.

It also incorporates optional integrated online folding that ensures fully automated workflow for the delivery of consistent folded output, according to the manufacturer.

Océ's ColorWave 300 2nd Edition controller will handle a range of file formats that include HP-Gl/2, PDF, DWF and JPEG.
