The appointment, which was confirmed by Roland last month, will see the Hertfordshire-based business initially focus on selling Roland’s UV range of printers, including the VersaUV LEC printer-cutter series and the VersaUV LEJ and LEF ranges.
This will expand over time to include Roland’s full portfolio of print-and-cut and print-only machines.
To ease the introduction of the machines into its product portfolio, the business has taken on two experienced Roland specialists in newly created roles.
Duncan Macdonald, who has been hired as digital sales manager, is a specialist in the wide-format area. He has previous experience of selling Roland DG machines and has many successful Roland installations under his belt over the past six years.
Andy Banks, who has been appointed as digital technical manager, has extensive colour management and technical knowledge which has been acquired over many years of working as a pre-press, digital sales and support manager.
Macdonald and Banks, who both started in their roles at the beginning of February, previously worked together at Service Offset Supplies (SOS) and, prior to that, Avon Graphic Technologies.
Nth Degree technical director Matt Crowther said: "We wanted to take on the Roland dealership for quite a while, we've been working on it for some time and key to that was taking on the right people, so we really did it in tandem.
"Duncan and Andy work really well together and I think they've brought a lot of customers along with them. They've already had orders in their first month and it seems to be increasing as they go along."
Managing director Phil Dowson added: “Our clients will have direct, front-line sales and technical support from experts in the Roland field. Andy and Duncan give Nth Degree Imaging the right people combined with the perfect portfolio of Roland products that will cater for the ever-growing wide-format market.”
Last year the seven-staff firm, which has been selling Epson products since its inception in 2008 and has been an official Epson distributor since June 2013, became a UK service partner for Epson’s large-format inkjet printers.
The business also offers technology including augmented reality (AR) services and colour management software packages and services. Last year it teamed up with Glossop Cartons to help the Derbyshire-based carton board and packaging printer to launch an AR service.
