The two-year-old company bought the second-hand Prima S for £140,000 to run alongside another Muller Martini to stitch direct marketing materials.
"We're not just buying it for the colour," said owner Richard Anstock. "Mullers have good build quality and are more comfortable to use than Harris or Heidelberg machines.
"It replaces a 17-year-old Harris stitcher, which did us proud, but meant we needed two sets of parts and lacked the ability to interchange."
Anstock, who bought the kit from Grafitec, helped form the business with 10 colleagues after nearby Gemini Print Finishing went into receivership in 2006 and an MBO bid failed.
It has doubled workforce to over 20, and last year notched up £835,000 turnover – double expectations. It runs four MBO folding machines, a Schneider guillotine and two inkjet addressing machines.
