The VarioStream 7200s have been installed at the firms Belfast site, enabling it to offer services such as variable data ballot papers to the Irish print market.
Northern Whig chairman Billy Morrow said the VarioStreams would give the company greater flexibility in terms of print sizes, high speeds and improved quality.
The 7200s are undertaking work such as short-run spot colour books, confidential reports, electoral ballot papers and general commercial print.
They are also improving the companys cost-effectiveness, taking work from its litho presses.
Ocs VarioStream 7200 predominantly prints in mono, but colours can be selected from a palette of spot or highlight colours or a special Oc CustomTone can be mixed to match a corporate colour.
The twin configuration can handle up to 360 A4 pages per minute, two-up, or 760 A5 pages in three-up format at 600dpi.
