Paul Philbrick, managing director of Close Brothers Asset Finance’s Print team, is ready to support print firms as they gear up for 2025 investment – with inkjet at the forefront.

What do you feel were the main trends and key industry developments in 2024?
Inkjet technology has come to the forefront of printers’ purchasing decisions as they see the type of product they’re being asked to produce, change.

What do you expect to be the main trends, key industry developments, and biggest opportunities for printers in 2025?
Following on from Drupa 2024, a lot of key players in the industry will be looking to launch their new B2 inkjet offerings.

What are Close Brothers’ own hopes and aims for 2025? Can you tell us about anything exciting in the pipeline?
As with every other year, we will continue to support firms through the cycle. While this may not sound exciting, it does provide reassurance to business owners that funding will still be available and they will have access to a team of experts that speak their language and understand their business.

What did you think of Drupa? Do you plan to attend the show in 2028?
Drupa is our Olympics! It was great to be back there, reconnecting with people we know and making new contacts. To see the innovation on display – particularly around sustainability - was truly inspiring and it gives us renewed confidence of where the industry sees itself today and in the future.
