New Dan Brown novel The Lost Symbol set for record print run

Publisher Random House's sister company Transworld has commissioned its largest ever first print run for Dan Brown's new novel The Lost Symbol.

The 6.5m-print run is for the English language version of the book, which features Brown's academic protagonist Robert Langdon reprised from his earlier appearances in previous bestsellers The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons.

The Da Vinci Code has sold around 81m copies since being published in 2003.

The launch of The Lost Symbol will be preceded by a major marketing campaign this summer.
