An innovative new business card stock is about to be launched by Antalis.
Peel-Card is the brainchild of management consultant Ken Dietz, who teamed up with printer Brian Mooney of Rhodes Printing in St Helens to turn his idea into a reality.
"I came back from a meeting one day with 11 business cards in my file, and thought I wish there was a way of taking the information off these cards," explained Dietz.
The result is Peel-Card, a patented two-part business card that incorporates a "mini" detachable business card with a self-adhesive backing.
"Its not much more cost for the consumer and its a terrific added-value for the printer if ever there was a product for the digital print industry, its this," added Dietz.
The Peel-Card stock is micro-perfed and slit, and is available in packs of 100 SRA3 sheets. Each sheet can produce 21 credit card sized business cards or 24 "universal" size cards of 51x89mm. It is being manufactured by SJP under its Taktik brand, and will be sold through Antalis. Packs of 100 sheets will cost in the region of 50.
"Were going to test market it prior to a full roll-out," said Peter Harrison, Antalis product manager for added-value products. "Jobbing printers and the Kall Kwik-type customer are probably the main market, but we main find other applications once its out there."
