The NCS Group has opened its variable information centre of excellence at its advanced technologies centre in Leeds.
It is using a Xerox DocuColor 2060 with CreoScitexs Spire front-end and Darwin XTension for VI authoring to demonstrate the potential of VI printing. NCS is the only independent source for Darwin in the UK.
"Our expertise is with colour and handling full VI. We are really focusing on VI as an application for digital print," said NCS marketing manager Phil Dean.
It is targeting corporate marketing departments, repro houses and small- and medium-sized printers with its digital print products. Mark Williams, who was previously with Indigo, is handling digital print sales.
NCS is also looking at developing products that integrate variable data printing with asset management, which the firm also sells from its Leeds office, to provide a complete digital print system later in the year.
