NCS Group has bought Closed Loop Colour and its PassPort print and pre-press process control system.
The move is part of its effort to become a leading colour management company and follows on from last years tie-up with Alwan Colour Expertise (PrintWeek, 25 August 2000).
"Its not just colour management, process control is at the heart of it," said NCS Group managing director Roger Stockdale. "PassPort has tangible benefits in internal quality assurance and achieving ISO 9002."
Two staff from the Leighton Buzzard-based firm, sales manager Ronnie White and Paul Norton have joined NCS.
It has also redirected two internal staff to the new division and plans to train its sales staff on the new services. Former Closed Loop director Graham McLachlan left the firm earlier this year to join CreoScitex as sales executive for Scotland and the North West (PrintWeek, 19 October).
"What were trying to do is to make PassPort a must-have, driven from the customer," said NCS Group sales director Tony Newton. "Some print specifiers are making it an essential to get work." By Barney Cox
