NatMags' Beattie to leave company after 11 years

The National Magazine Company (NatMags) group manufacturing director Alice Beattie is to leave the company as a result of a cost reduction plan that began in February.

Beattie, who joined NatMags as group manufacturing director in November 1997 and oversaw its adoption of CTP and move to full in-house repro, will leave the business this Friday (10 April).

Her position has been made redundant and the operational responsibilities have been decentralised to the group production managers, while responsibility for all strategic procurement decisions has been assumed by NatMags general manager Simon Horne.

Horne said: "We wish Alice well for the future and thank her for the commitment she has shown NatMags over the past 11 years."

Beattie, who is a keen advocate of environmental standards accreditation, was co-chair of the PPA production and technology committee for four years and was presented with the PPA Chairman's Award in 2005.

She has also served on the PPA Environment Committee since 1997.
