The Heidelberg SM 102-10P will be delivered later this month, to replace two Heidelberg Speedmaster 102s, a four- and a two-colour.
Operators will move from sister firm M&M Press to Montgomery Litho to run the new machine. The firm will also move to a continental shift pattern running 24 hours, six days per week.
Managing director Tommy Montgomery said the firm had been considering the purchase of a six-colour press, but felt this would just be offering more of what it already had.
"The 10-colour with CutStar reel-to-sheet technology means we can offer more competitive prices and different formats," he said.
Montgomery said an MIS was next on the list, which would link the whole factory including presses and guillotines, with folding and stitching to be added later in the year.
Montgomery Litho includes the businesses of Scotprint, M&M Press, Digital Imaging, City Print Services and The Print People.
