The agreement will give Gannett and its subsidiaries full access to the Monotype, Linotype and ITC OpenType font libraries to facilitate high-quality typography in print and digital media.
John McCallum, vice-president of Monotype Imaging's Creative Professional business, said: "Gannett will use our fonts to deliver consistent brand typography for their world-class web application environments, such as self-service advertising portals.
"This will not only help their titles to retain their brand integrity but also enable their advertisers to select suitable fonts to support their own recognised brands and create compelling advertising content."
