Mitsubishi fills two key roles

Mitsubishi Lithographic Presses (MLP) has named Yoji Nishihara as UK managing director and Mick Carr as UK sales director of the sheetfed division.

The appointments follow the sad death of Roy Jenkinson in April. "Roy set up a good operation here, putting a lot of structure in and its now that we're reaping the rewards," said Carr.

Carr (pictured) was previously southern sales manager for MLP UK. The company hopes to build on its recent spate of sheetfed sales by increasing its sales team from six to eight.

The latest installation is a D1000 five-colour press at Colourplan in Ipswich. "Mitsubishi easily came out head and shoulders above everything else we looked at," said Colourplan directors Steve and Rob Stone.

Nishihara has been with the UK operation for the past year as senior director working alongside Jenkinson and was confident he could build on the work he started. "MLP UK is an organisation built on strong foundations," he said.

Meanwhile, Carl Johnson has been made northern regional sales manager for sheetfed and Iliaya Kovacevic general manager of the commercial web division as well as the newspaper division.
