The successor to the Tiger-1800B, which was launched in late 2016, the 385sqm/hr machine has a high-quality 1,200dpi mode along with a number of other quality improvements.
It will be available by July and will have a price similar to its predecessor.
Mimaki Europe product manager for EMEA Bert Benckhuysen said textile producers are increasingly moving over from conventional production to digital printing.
“The market is in need of high-volume textile printers, such as our new Tiger MkII. The speed allows those companies to print what is necessary, meaning less stock and faster time to market.”
New features include Mimaki’s Advanced Pass System, which is said to minimise banding and colour shifting by spreading the edge of the pass, making the boundary area a gradation and resulting in a smoother printed image.
Mimaki’s Nozzle Checking Unit and Nozzle Recovery System are also incorporated.
Furthermore, a raft of optional devices are available, including a feeding unit for roll media equipped with a centring device and tension bar, a jumbo roll unit to enable printing of long-length roll fabric or heat transfer paper, and drying and winding or pleating options for printed fabrics.
Mimaki is also launching its newly expanded UCJV range of LED-UV print-and-cut machines on its booth this week at Messe Berlin (1.2-D20/D30).
Joining the existing 1.6m-wide UCJV300-160 model, which was launched last September, are the UCJV300-75 (width: 0.8m), UCJV300-107 (1.09m), and UCJV300-130 (1.36m).
