A spokesman said the acquisitions would be just the first of several. The company would become a major print group in the UK, with a turnover of 40m in the next year, he added.
Tewkesbury-based commercial printer Beshara Press and its sister company, CentrePoint in Nottingham, had been in talks with Midlands since last July, after they were subject to a for sale advert in the Financial Times (PrintWeek, 8 June 2001).
Newey Print, a specialist packaging firm in Birmingham, was sourced by Richmond Capital Partners, which has been appointed by Midlands to research further acquisitions.
