With its Cambridge headquarters situated among one of the largest industrial inkjet clusters in the world, the company said it has secured “significant, additional floorspace” adjoining its existing facility.

It said the extra space would enable it to boost research, manufacturing, quality, and customer support efforts while accommodating its expanding workforce, which it is actively recruiting to grow further.

Meteor’s global customer base serves a wide variety of markets including ceramic tiles, packaging, labelling, commercial print, textiles, direct-to-shape product decoration, and 3D/additive manufacturing. The business was acquired by Global Graphics in 2016.

Meteor managing director Clive Ayling said: “Meteor’s new space provides a comfortable environment for our growing team as well as offering purpose-built facilities to improve our productivity and pave the way for future innovation.

“This expansion is an important milestone for Meteor, and we were pleased to celebrate with our employees as well as with honoured guests from the Global Graphics group of companies.”

Global Graphics chairman Guido van der Schueren, accompanied by CEO Mike Rottenborn, cut the ribbon to open the expanded facility on 2 September.

In July Meteor Inkjet expanded its product portfolio with the addition of drive electronics and software for Ricoh’s TH5241 industrial inkjet printhead.
