MetaCommunications rolls out Manager software

MetaCommunications, the US-based software firm, has used Graph Expo to launch a raft of new products.

Approval Manager 1.0 is designed to streamline and simplify the client approval process of digital proofs. It works via a web interface and supports Adobe Acrobat, KPG RealTimeProof and Microsoft SharePoint.

"It brings unprecedented savings in time and improved process control throughout an entire organisation," said MetaCommunications executive vice-president Robert Long.

Approval Manager, which works with both Mac OS X and Windows-based sys-tems, offers linear, parallel and cyclic workflow support as well as event-driven e-mail notifications and reminders. The firm also used the Chicago event to offer a sneak preview of its Digital Storage Manager prior to its official launch in November.

The firm claims that the software is the "first data lifecycle management  product targeted at the high volume graphical production market".

The software, which will be Mac OS 9 and OS X compatible, promises to reduce the time and effort required to move, archive and retrieve digital files. Both it and Approval Manager are due to ship by the end of the year.
