Mercury and BPIF launch new online training and apprentice service

Recruitment consultant Mercury Search and Selection has launched a new online service to help inform employers and employees of the careers and apprenticeships available in print.

The new website, www.skills4print.com, has been created in conjunction with BPIF Training and has been designed for employers and candidates, as well as parents and tutors. All are provided with a source of information for those involved in print training.

The site's employers section is set out with information on funding, the types of role that can be apprenticed, what responsibilities the employer holds and the role BPIF training plays.

The online portal allows employers to advertise apprentice vacancies for free. While applications go to the employer direct, BPIF training is notified of both vacancies and applications in order to support the company.

Candidates, parents and tutors can use the site to retrieve information on the careers available within print, coupled with details of each role.

In addition, candidates can find information on training options and post their client profile online for potential employers.

Dani Novick, managing director of Mercury Search and Selection, said: "We are really proud to have created this service for the industry in conjunction with BPIF Training."

She added: "There is no doubt in my mind that this site can help employers and candidates; but of course its success depends on careers officers, parents and employers using the service, which I want to re-iterate is free with no hidden catches."
