Released in the UK in January through Hemel Hempstead-based distributor Friedheim International, the new version is intended to simplify the transfer of heavy paper from a pile feeder to a folding machine.
It is compatible with a number of MBO folding machines, including the T500, T520, T530 and T353 buckle folders and the K530 and K760 combi-folders.
MBO head of research and development Sebastian König said: “The latest version of the Vacustar features an improved feeding behaviour with heavy papers. Instead of using electrically switching parts the vacuum operated spring suction cups are self-controlling. It allows more precise adjustments at the sheet infeed.
“The new version was a logical next step. The changes further improve the feeder head’s functionality without raising its price. They are based on various feedback and own development ideas.
“One of our top priorities is designing our products to be as easy to use as possible, this of course also affects the development of our feeder heads. We also strive to make them suitable for as many kinds of folding applications as possible.”
This latest version of the Vacustar can run at 60,000cph and is built with an automatic height adjustment at the rear of the stack.
It is being released alongside the announcement of upgrades to the Vaculift RS feeder head which has a new stroke mechanism in the suction unit for 100% repeatable stroke execution and is compatible with the K800.2 and K8 combi-folders.
According to König, all upgrades are available to previous customers as retrofits.
