MBO has launched a new computerised makeready system for its latest range of
large-format combination and buckle folders.
The T700 and T800 Perfection buckle folding machines are available with either pile or continuous feeders. The T700 can operate to a maximum sheet size of 68x104cm and the T800 82x120cm. Both folders have MBOs VIVAS vacuum sheet infeed system and can be fitted with the Rapidset computerised make-ready system.
MBO is launching a new control system with the T700 and T800, the touch-screen
operated Navigator. The system is CIP3 compatable and so can be integrated into existing workflow systems. Friedheim International technical manager, Bob Sugg, said that Navigator brings together machine controls, production monitoring and the automatic machine setting systems. He added that operators would not only be able to programme folding impositions from the screen, but also have access to a data base of operating manuals, spare parts lists and wiring diagrams. In the next few months MBO expect to release operator guiding on the Navigator. This will be a library of information on common problems encountered in folding paper and suggested solutions. Sugg said, What itll do is provide information on troubleshooting and give ideas on how to overcome them.
He said that MBO had were developing the system in response to changing skill levels in finishing. Theres a problem with skill levels in the trade, were not de-skilling just making the information available.
MBO has also launched a new range of 50x70cm folding machines, the K530 combination and the T530 buckle. Both can be supplied with either pile or continuous feeders, and four or six plates at each parallel unit.
