We went from 100% film to 100% CTP within two days of installation, said Mail Marketings print production manager Steve Nuth. The machine produces around 500 Kodak Polychrome Graphics plates a month. The 120,000 deal also included Screens Trueflow PDF-based workflow.
One of its first jobs saw the PlateRite complete a set of plates 20 minutes after the proof was approved.
Southamptons Cedar Press (Southern) bought its PlateRite 4300 to replace its earlier Screen platesetter, a visible light FlatRite 1050. It bought the 4300 to produce higher-quality solids and tints and longer runs.
