Magazine Week 2008 launches across the UK

Today marks the start of the Periodical Publishers Association's (PPA) Magazine Week, which celebrates and promotes the UK magazine industry.

Last year's event saw magazine sales rise 2.1% and, as in 2007, Haymarket, which publishes PrintWeek, Printing World and Print Buyer, is taking an active role.

This includes participating in the first fully-funded retail Buy One Get One Half Price (BOGOHP) offer in Borders, alongside other activities which include free books and CDs inserted into goody bags from WHSmith and a buy 'two magazines for £3.99" deal with Sainsbury's.

Magazine Week also features a poll on the best magazine cover to celebrate the diversity of the industry, which garnered coverage on BBC Breakfast.
