The Basildon, Essex-based B2 printer said that the four-colour press combined offset quality with the flexibility of a digital front end.
According to director Steve Samuels, the Screen press gives Lynhurst the best of both worlds.
"Pure digital is great as it doesn't have the drying time and other advantages, but our customers would not be happy with the quality and that's why we went for a digital offset press," he said.
The 20-year-old business has identified a wide range of jobs suited to the new acquisition, such as multi-language, short-run magazines.
"It has all the advantages of speed, short-run ability and flexibility of digital, but with litho quality," Samuels added.
Lynhurst Press employs 25 staff and also operates three Komori presses and a Screen PlateRite 6600S B2+ platesetter, which it bought in March 2007.
