Sheffield-based greetings card printer Loxleys is to install a six-colour Indigo TurboStream and a Komori Lithrone 640EH with a reverse printing unit and coater as part of a 2.5m investment.
"This forms the last link in the chain for us," said operations director Andrew Horn.
Last year the company installed a Trendsetter 3244 thermal laser CTP system and a Prinergy PDF-based workflow.
"Its a big investment for us, but we believe in ploughing our money back into the company," said Horn.
"The reverse printing unit was a big factor in our decision to choose Komori, enabling us to print on the inside of the card without turning the sheet," he added.
Horn also said the company would use the investment as a "springboard" to move into other niche markets.
Loxleys is the second largest independent company of its kind, producing about 150m cards a year for high-street retailers, charity organisations and publishers across the UK.
It has over 90 employees and an annual turnover of 6m.
