Lord Black of Brentwood named president of The Printing Charity

The executive Director of Telegraph Media Group has been appointed president of the The Printing Charity for 2013.

Lord Black will take up his position in January.

Speaking at the charity’s 185th annual lunch, outgoing president and current chief executive of the Telegraph Media Group, Murdoch MacLennan, said it had been an honour to head the charity during 2012 and addressed ongoing challenges affecting the print industry as a result of the economic climate.

He said: "The Printing Charity wants to help. But in turn, the charity needs help ensuring that those who need help know there is someone they can turn to in difficulty."

Lord Black stressed that it was vital to spread awareness of the charity's work throughout the industry.
