Fitted with either 24 or 32 Ricoh Gen6 5pL printheads on beams powered by linear drives, the 2.5m or 3m-wide KCXL+ boasts a significant productivity boost over the KCXL, with a 25% faster top speed.
Able to tandem print – printing on one side of the table while the operator loads or unloads the other side – the KCXL+ is also fitted with up to eight channels, meaning it can print and spot varnish, matt or gloss, in a single pass through the machine.
The machine is already on sale, with European machines stocked and ready, according to Alp Öztunali, sales and marketing director at Liyu Deutschland.
“We have a principle at Liyu of always giving the best service to our customers, so we always try to keep machines in stock,” he said.
Öztunali added that maintenance was a breeze on the new generation: “It’s very easy to clean, and nearly a maintenance-free product. There’s no vibration, because of the magnetic linear drives – there is much less friction and noise, so it’s a very smooth, high quality machine.
“You can just open the printer, do a small purge. During the day, you don’t even have to clean the varnish.”
Turkey-based Liyu manufactures its own Greenguard-gold certified inks, formulated for use with its machines.
Also launched to market at Fespa is the firm’s new cutter, the Q-Cut 2532, fitted with a 1.8kW CNC router and automatic tool changer and cleaner.
Making its European debut is Liyu’s Q3XL hybrid press, first shown in November 2023 at Fespa Eurasia. Capable of 2880 dpi and up to 120 sqm/hr, the press is fitted with CMYK, light cyan, light magenta, white and varnish.
“All our models can be configurated individually, and that configuration can be changed afterwards – it’s a very modular system that we have,” Öztunali added.
Liyu, founded in 1993, has already sold its show model of the KCXL+, and is prepared for more sales, said Öztunali.
“We’re selling around 85-90 machines every month in the international market. Now, we have new targets for the factories to produce 1,200 units per year.”
Öztuna added that while Turkish hospitality formed the basis of Liyu’s approach to business, the company is firmly international: “We are a Turkish company, with a European mindset, and the production power of the far East: it’s a very good mixture.”
