Linney sticks with Iridesse for digital refresh

Linney: mission is to stay ahead of industry trends

Linney has refreshed the digital printing setup at its Quadrant business with a new Xerox Iridesse.

Quadrant is based in Hertford and offers a range of high quality creative and printing services to agencies and brands. It typically serves clients located in London and South East England.

The new Iridesse Production Press was installed before Christmas.

Linney director Charles Linney said it was a replacement for the firm’s older model, which made everything very straightforward in terms of familiarity with the device, its operation and Fiery-based frontend.

The Xerox Iridesse runs at up to 120ppm and offers four-, five- and six-colour printing as standard. It can produce work using metallic, clear and white toners in a single pass.

Linney said the digital press represented a six-figure spend for the group and was an important part of Quadrant’s creative production offering.

“This investment aligns with our mission to stay ahead of industry trends and deliver exceptional results across all our print solutions,” he said.

Kevin O'Donnell, Xerox UK and Ireland head of marketing for Graphic Communications, commented: “We are excited to see the incredible work Linney will produce with the Iridesse, as it opens new creative possibilities for their clients.”

Mansfield-headquartered Linney posted sales up just over 10% at £128.2m in its most recent financial year, to 28 April 2024, and employed more than 1,200 people.

Separately, the group is gearing up for the installation of the world’s first Fujifilm-Barberán HS6000 single-pass inkjet press, which can run at up to 6,000sqm/hr and handle materials up to 1.7m wide. Construction of a new building that will house the press is currently underway at Linney’s 35-acre supersite in Mansfield.
