Lefa Print boosts web-to-print offering with first UK Xerox 7002

Lefa Print has bought the world's first Xerox 7002 digital colour press and is aiming to grow its web-to-print offering.

The Sidcup, Kent-based business has also bought an Infigo Web2print system, from Bytes Document Solutions, which also supplied the press.

According to Edward Arthur, managing director of Lefa, the new set-up will help the business streamline its service offering while opening up new markets, such as personalised greeting cards and calendars.

"Personalisation adds a massive string to our digital bow. By upgrading to the new 7002, we can meet the high quality and fast turnaround demanded by consumers, while improving our services to business clients," he added.

The Xerox 7002 configuration replaces an earlier 5000 model at the 35-staff company. It can print at speeds of 70ppm and features a low-gloss toner that is claimed to help produce a smooth matte finish to prints.

Arthur added that the quality of the 7002 output would allow the printer to cross-sell work between its litho client base while its new Infigo web-to-print system is driving work to the machines.

"Infigo is great for attracting new business – we gain lots of traditional litho jobs on the back of it. Customers using Infigo for business cards and letterheads always have us at the forefront of their minds, so we often get selected for the bespoke jobs," Arthur said.
