Leek Signs & Graphics has invested in an Roland TrueVis VG-640 wide-format printer to support an increase of work ahead of the festive season.

The Staffordshire-based company installed the ex-demo inkjet printer-cutter in the autumn. It was supplied by Quality Print Services (QPS), which also supplies the machine’s Nazdar inks. It replaced a Roland SolJet Pro III XC-540 installed in 2011.

Leek Signs has already used to the 1.6m-wide machine to support a number of client projects, including bespoke flat-board and 3D displays and banners for the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland event, part of its growing theme park and public events projects.

The firm’s circa £16,500 machine runs Nazdar 204 series OEM inks, which have been developed specifically for use in Roland TrueVIS SG and VG series systems.

Leek Signs has been using Nazdar bulk ink systems on its Roland printers for several years.

Leek Signs director Mat Burrows said: “We are really impressed with the new TrueVis VG-640. The quality of print is superb and the colours are nice and vibrant!

“We are happy with Nazdar inks; they are economical and produce great colours. We’ve never had any problems using these alternative inks.”

The family-run signage business, which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, offers signage, vehicle printing, print marketing, and design services to a range of UK customers.
