KDP, which trades under online brands including Fast Labels and Discount Sticker Printing, took home the prize on 7 December.
The awards, now in their 25th year, saw 900 people celebrate Yorkshire businesses over 17 categories.
Adele Holland, KDP’s director of innovation, said the team was thrilled to have been recognised, as it has invested heavily in developing its team.
She told Printweek: “We’ve all worked so hard these past 24 months since Covid, and it just felt like all that hard work has paid off and been recognised.”
Over the past two years, the business has attained ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications for quality and environmental management, and has invested significantly in automation.
The firm put in two HP Indigo 6900 narrow-web inkjet presses in 2021, and is now eyeing up a third for 2024, Holland added, and in September it installed an AB Graphic (ABG) Digicon Series 3 digital roll-fed finishing machine.
“Because we had already put some automation items in within the production team, it just slotted right in perfectly,” Holland said.
“We had a lot of support from ABG, and it’s working well.”
The firm has seen extensive growth to accompany these investments. Doubling in size over the pandemic, it has now managed to sustain growth in the difficult post-Covid environment.
“We have sustained that growth - but we have a head of tech, we have a head of workflow, we’ve done a lot on automation and expanded the sales and support team over the last year,” Holland explained.
KDP now employs 52 staff at its Doncaster site.
