The LS Jet II is available with either a green YAG laser or a violet laser diode and this imaging source can be upgraded or swapped once in the field.
The flatbed platesetter, which can produce over 300 plates an hour, has a maximum resolution of 2,540dpi.
Krause product manager newspaper systems Jrg Schlenk said the new machine met the newspaper markets requirements by offering quality at high resolution, a smaller footprint and the choice of light source.
Fuji unveiled its latest violet photopolymer plate at Ifra last week. Agfa is also understood to be developing a violet photopolymer plate, but has not announced details of its release date.
