The two companies will combine Kodaks Versatile Intelligent Patient Archive software with IBMs TotalStorage products.
The move is aimed at helping medical professionals store, retrieve and share large amounts of digital image files and information across multiple sites.
The partnership with IBM follows Kodaks recent shift towards enhancing its digital and commercial print market presence after its acquisition of Scitex Digital Printing (PrintWeek, 27 November).
Kodak shareholder Herbert Denton, who owns less than 1% of the companys shares, is continuing to press for a shareholders committee to be formed, and is calling for his company, Providence Capital, to be named as its financial adviser.
