The investment is part of a £2m spend on kit this year, which the company anticipates will help drive the printer's £7.5m-£8m turnover to more than £10m in the next 12 months.
The Tamworth-Staffordshire-based company, which employs 60 people, will use the new Agfa inkjet to help bolster its capacity for close high street retail display work when it arrives in the next few weeks.
It required a machine that could produce text in fine detail with a large percentage of its display material being used in close proximity environments.
Mark Plowman, managing director of KEP Print Group, said: "We wanted something that would add that extra level of quality to our set-up.
"We can carry out small text print in sizes as small as 4pt but we'll also use the Agfa for whatever the market throws at us."
The machine joins a battery of existing digital kit that includes HP machines and two Durst Rho 205 large-format presses, which are housed in a dedicated 465sqm facility.
"With the Anapurna XLS, coupled with other recent investments, we can now hope to push to the £10-12m turnover mark in the next 12 months," Plowman said.
The Agfa Anapurna XLS can print at a resolution of up to 1,440dpi at speeds of up to 44sqm an hour and has a list price of £170,000.
