The Hove-based company installed a Stahlfolder Ti36 just before Christmas and added a 16-station Acoro binder with a book block feeder from Muller Martini in July.
The final piece of the puzzle was finalised at the end of July, when a KH78 combination folder was installed.
According to managing director James Wheeler, the investment has allowed Kensett to say "yes" to more work.
He said: "We had a 12-station binder before, so anything bigger we would have to turn away. Now we can keep that work in-house. The Acoro is PUR capable as well, which will help us win more work.
"We have been thinking about the binder for the last two years, the old binder was on its last legs. But we were offered a lot of extra work by one of our main customers, they would be spending a lot more each year. We couldn't turn that down."
According to Wheeler, the Heidelberg folders replace aging machines and offer a better fold, as well as being much faster and more efficient.
Wheeler took over the £1.75m company from his father two years ago and runs it along with his sister Emma, as well as sister company K&L Laminators, which has a turnover of just over £1m.
According to Wheeler, between the two companies, all areas of finishing are covered.
