The four-plate pallet-fed machine, which is configured with Navigator Control, will be delivered within 10 weeks, together with a Palamides Alpha 700. The K800.2 can run at up to 215m/min and comes with either four or six buckle plates.
The folder deal comes after Kensett installed a Muller Martini Acoro perfect binder in July last year, which managing director James Wheeler said had increased its capacity by more than 50% and effectively rendered a 15-year-old MBO folder obsolete.
Wheeler said: "One of our customers picked up a lot more work and we needed something a lot faster. We have always been very happy with MBO machines.
"A lot of the work we are now getting is larger format, including A1 sheets. This is our first pallet-fed machine to handle this size work."
Kensett was an exclusively MBOkitted firm for 25 years until late last year when it bought a Heidelberg folder. However, when the 15-year-old machine needed to be replaced, Wheeler said he decided to opt for an MBO.
Wheeler said that he was already looking for his next investment and may purchase a wire-binding system in the coming months.
Kensett has a turnover of £1.75m and employs 45 staff.
