Kendall Press assets sold back to directors

The assets of failed printer Kendall Press have been sold back to the company's previous directors.

Trafford-based Kendall Press went into liquidation with Kevin Lucas of BCR on 18 October after closing its doors a week prior to that.

After a period of marketing the business, Lucas said that the only firm offer had come from MTS Press, whose directors Craig Kendall and Harry Wishbourne were also directors at Kendall Press.

Lucas said: "After a number of initial expressions of interest, MTS Press were the only ones to make an offer, which was more than acceptable."

Kendall and Wishbourne could not be reached at time of writing, but Lucas said that he understood the company would be reemploying a number of Kendall Press's employees.

Lucas previously said the business had been hit hard since investing heavily in digital printing a couple years ago, before the recession caused its turnover to drop by 40%.
