KBAs DI press, the 74 Karat, has finally taken off in the UK, with one commercial installation and a further three orders. An order has also been taken for the Republic of Ireland.
UK beta site FE Burmans second press is among the orders, while Data Layout is the first commercial installation (see separate story). Things are now exploding, said KBA UK sales manager digital technology Michael Greiger.
Londons FE Burman is due to take delivery of its second machine, which will include a coater, in September, conditional on some technical issues with the existing press being sorted out.
A coater was part of the criteria from the beginning of the project, said managing director Michael Burman. Sadly we cant upgrade the existing unit to also include a coater.KBA seems to have cracked it which is good news all round, said Burman.
